Babels is an international network of translators and interpreters created within the movement of the World Social Forum. Babels is trying to grow now in the Nordic and Easter European countries with the occasion of the 5th European Social Forum next September in Malmo, Sweden. (www.esf2008.org)
At this stage, we are trying to gather volunteers to take part in the forum as conference interpreters. For that purpose we are trying to arrange training sessions. Babels has created some DVDs with speeches to prepare interpreters for the Forum. We are now exploring the possibility to held those training sessions somewhere in Tampere.
If you want to become a Babeli@ and participate as a volunteer interpreter or translator in the Forum or in the Training sessions, please register yourself at www.babels.org and remember to select the MalmoList in the mailing lists available in the registration form.
Interpreters and translators working with Nordic languages and based in Nordic countries (with all languages) are highly encouraged to register!!
