On 1 May guerrilla gardeners around the world sow sunflowers all over the place. It's a way to bring beauty, bumble bees and bundles of fun to your neighborhood.

2010 is the fourth "International Sunflower Guerrilla Gardening Day" and this time it's on a Saturday! So hopefully it'll be bigger and more colourful than ever before.

Make a plan for May 1 to head out to a patch of public land, or make a walk of it. Post your ideas on the wall of this event, on the local COMMUNITY pages of GuerrillaGardening.org here:
http://guerrillagardening.org/community/index.php and spread the word to friends and other guerrilla gardeners.

Please also sign up to the GuerrillaGardening.org Facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2341197575

All you need are the seeds, something to poke a hole 2cm in the ground and a bit of imagination. Tips are available here:

This day was launched by The Brussels' Farmers in 2007
http://brussels-farmer.blogspot.com/ and is championed by http://www.GuerrillaGardening.org.

(At this time of the year sunflowers are of course best suited for planting in the Northern Hemisphere, so if you're down south go for something different or do this in November.)
