Call for Contributions

The framework
The European Citizens Convention Landau is a joint project by Citizens of
Europe, Europa-Union Landau/SÜW, the City of Landau, the Landau University,
and partners from all over Europe. It will bring together people from
the Landau region and from other European countries, who are active in
different fields. The project aims to achieve new ideas, impulse and motivation
to all participants.
The night event
After the study day on voluntarism at Landau University (Friday, 6th May)
and as a contrast to the following “Tag der Vereine” in the center of Landau,
a night event will trace and problematize the border between voluntarism,
art and activism. Both art and activism are voluntary work, for the
most part, since in most cases they are not paid, but neither they are recognized
or gratified for being volunteering.
Existing at that limit they expose and negotiate the regime of visibility enforced
by the system on both art and activism as practices and on the topics
and phenomena, they engage in. This limit is constitutive to these three
fields as they all are based on communication, i.e. on being-in-common.
Additional opportunities
Artists and Activists present might also use the opportunity for exhibitions
in the centre of Landau during the 4 days event. A workshop on ‘Voluntarism,
Arts and Activism’ during the University day or public discussions
during the “Tag der Vereine” are possible.

 An exhibition in closed or open space
 A workshop, performance, video work, presentation, etc. in the night
event
 A presentation of your work at the artists’ presentation day.
