Details ‘YouthFest’ is arguably the first ever-known festival organised for youth workers only. It proposes bringing together 200 youth workers, (100 local and 100 from overseas) to celebrate all that is positive in youth work. Practitioners from twenty countries will meet and engage with youth workers, young leaders and children and young people from right across Northern Ireland in a mass celebration of youth work practice but most importantly right here in Derry Londonderry. YouthFest will incorporate a range of mediums (ten in total-see below) that figure prominently in youth work, mediums that are commonly used to engage young people, mediums such as music, outdoor education, IT and drama.

YouthFest is a series of organised events and activities designed to illustrate all that is good in youth work, to raise its profile to a wider audience, demonstrate best practice, provide a platform for practitioners to share learning and exchange views and provide opportunities for children and young people to engage in activities that will promote the development of their skills and knowledge alongside a greater awareness of and use for inter-cultural dialogue.
