Nyt etsittäisiin kiinnostuneita järjestelemään lasten afrikka-tapahtuman workshopeja:
Place: Aaltosenpuisto (next to Tammelantori)
Date: Saturday, 19th of July
Main idea: The purpose of the event is to organise something nice for the children during the summer. At this event we want the children to have some fun, to experience other cultures and to learn some community spirit through working and playing in small workshops together with other children and families. Workshops will evolve around themes of toy building, painting, African food, face painting and music. Hopefully we will manage to a get hold of artists who would like to help us. We are looking for artists such as clowns, musicians, dancers, face painters, etc. We hope to get as many African artists as possible to perform on the day and hopefully we are lucky enough to organise some pony rides, too.
Workshops: We are planning to get 2-3 people per workshop to assist with general duties and children's supervision. One workshop will evolve around making toys/musical instruments such as drums, rain sticks and rattles, preferably by using recycled materials. In another workshop we are hoping to have real African instruments that people could learn to play with. Another workshop will include face painting and something that the children can paint for themselves. In another workshop we will make African foods. We are also hoping to have workshops, for example, on african arts, theatre, stories, jewellery - that's if we manage to find the volunteers & materials. Any ideas are mostly welcome.
All materials used at the event should be simple, safe, inexpensive and preferably recycled.

Now we are looking for people who can give a hand at the event - all kinds of people are needed (artists, assistants running workshops, general helpers etc...)! Anyone who can lend a hand on the day will be very valuable to us. Please contact the person below as soon as possible, if you or your friend are interested in helping us organising a fun day for our kids and families.
Workshop ideas: kasvomaalaus, korujen tekeminen, afrikkalaiset lautapelit, afrikka-teemainen tietovisa, kertoa afrikkalaisia tarinoita (esim. eri musiikki instrumenttien mukana käyttäen), punoa (esim oljista) koreja, käyttää tekstiilejä tai esim. koota lasten kanssa tilkkupeitto, joka voitaisiin lähettää Unicefin kautta esim. Tansaniaan? En nyt kuitenkaan voi sanoa, että kaikki näistä toteutuisi, kaikki riippuu ihmisten mielenkiinnosta (ja tietysti materiaalien saatavuudesta).
