A Finnish Landscape Painting Club starts on friday 23th of February,
at the premises of Sampola Adult Education Centre.
The club lead by two young artists Rina Drescher and Hanneriina Moisseinen is a meeting-place for both Finns and foreigners, beginners and professionals to share their opinions and knowledge about art and
Finland.
There will be a combination of lectures about art and Finnish
culture; excursions in and around Tampere; painting together with
teaching and discussion.
The landscape is one of the most popular themes of painting. In
Finland it is still one of the most important elements of national
self-image appearing in tourism advertisements, food packages and
national museums. What does finnish landscape mean to us living in
contemporary Finland? How does landscape painting express our thoughts and feelings of being in the middle of thousand lakes, forests and supermarkets? The Finnish Landscape Painting Club provides fresh,
inspiring and funny viewpoints to both landscape painting and Finland.
The club is organized by Alejandro Lorenzo and Mikko Lipiäinen in
cooperation with Global Village and Culture Association of Pispala and
is supported by the Arts Council of Pirkanmaa and Art Shop Arteljee.
Welcome!
