Brussels, 13-15 March 2009

Call for Participants – DEADLINE Extended 13th February

For the first semester 2009, in the perspective of the European Elections and for the improvement

of communication skills in general, the Green European Foundation with support of the

Executive Committee of FYEG in cooperation with GreenCampus will organise a training on

Guerilla Marketing.

This training will take place in Brussels from Friday 13th of March till Sunday 15th.

The aim is to train 17 Green activists on this particular kind of political communication, covering

both the theoretical and practical level with an emphasis on the latter one. The participants will

then coach at least four young Greens in their home countries.

How to apply?

Participation in the training will be reimbursed up to 80% of the travel costs. Accommodation, visa

costs and food will be covered. FYEG EC in cooperation with GreenCampus will do the selection

upon some criteria such as gender and geographical balances, motivation and involvement in

campaigns and actions, big and small organisations balance, etc... There are places available for

12 Young Green participants (should not be younger than 18 or older than 28) and 5 older

Green participants.

Applications should preferably consist of a motivational letter, in which the applicant outlines why

she/he would find this training useful and how she/he plans to pass on the obtained information,

as well as the applicant's CV. Applications and inquiries regarding the training are to be sent to

office@fyeg.org. DEADLINE extended for applications is February 13th.

What is Guerilla Marketing?

"Guerilla Marketing" is a term to describe assertive and unconventional marketing methods. It is

a out-of-the box system of promotions and campaign techniques with a very low budget, by

relying on time, energy, imagination and creativity instead of big marketing budgets.

How can publicity be obtained in an inexpensive way - or even for free? How can the attention of

the people be boosted during a campaign? Which cheap current technologies can be used to

establish and maintain a relationship with our voters? How can viral marketing ideas be adopted

for political communication?

What will we do?

This is a first provisional agenda. Later a new version with updated invited trainers will be sent

out.

18:00: Arrival of participant and Round of introduction

19:00: Dinner speech and non formal discussion and exchange with an expert from an
