INVITATION TO WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S HAMLET:

This is an invitation from Dilek Yesilova <dilek.yesilova@gmail.com> of the theatre company, to see the new play by Tampere’s International Theatre Group "Shakespeare's Children" This spring group performs William Shakespeare's classic: Hamlet- the Prince of Denmark.
The famous story unfolds when Hamlet meets his father's ghost who tells him he was murdered by his brother who married his mother and is the present King. King Claudius is looking for a way to secure his power in the country, while Hamlet's sweetheart Ophelia is confused by the dramatic change in Prince. through a string of tragic and tragicomic events; we see Hamlet trying to find out how to take his revenge; and at the same time Prince of Denmark has lost his belief for life and love. Play discusses fundamental emotions that affect human life in the form of play characters. Characters do their best to control life events, but play ends with a bloody and surprising end, when destiny takes a different turn. The royal family is destroyed and Denmark changes hand, while Horatio, Hamlet's best friend remains behind to tell Hamlet's tragic story.
Hamlet is presented in adopted form, in English. The cast is from Russia, Australia, France, India, China, Georgia, Finland and Turkey. Play have been prepared in a course by Tampere Public Study Centre (Työväenopisto) and directed by Dilek Yesilova- Leino.
