Näyttely aukeaa! Fedir Alexandrovich: Tšernobylin varjo

Tervetuloa juhlistamaan yläkerran näyttelyn aukeamista la 19.10. klo 18! Ohjelmassa performanssi sekä elokuvanäytös palkintoja voittaneesta teoksesta “The Russian Woodpecker”.

Fedir Aleksandrovich on ukrainalainen runoilija, taiteilija ja riippumaton elokuvantekijä. Hän on valmistunut Kiovan National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture -koulusta ja opettanut siellä. Hän oli The Russian Woodpecker -elokuvan inspiroija ja tähti. Dokumenttielokuva kertoi hänen löytämänsä synkän salaisuuden Tšernobylin ydinonnettomuudesta, ja voitti tuomariston pääpalkinnon vuoden 2015 Sundance-elokuvafestivaaleilla.

“Näyttely koostuu abstrakteista teoksista, jotka ovat saaneet vaikutteita Tšernobylin äänistä. Kaaren varjo, “venäläinen tikka”, sen pahaenteinen kyky projisoida menneisyyttä. Tämä maalaus kertoo elokuvan äänistä ja yksi teos ystävästäni Artemista – kameramiehestä. Joka meni sotaan eikä puhu minulle. Linnut repivät hänet osiin. Mystiset linnut… He repivät sydäntämme nyt… Linnut jotka lensivät Tšernobylista, Neuvostoliiton menneisyydestä…”

Exhibition opening! Shadow of Chernobyl by Fedir Alexandrovich

Come join us in celebration of the new exhibition upstairs, this Saturday 19th of Oct at 6pm. The programme includes a performance, and a screening of the award-winning film “The Russian Woodpecker.”

Fedir Alexandrovich is a Ukrainian poet, artist, and independent filmmaker. A graduate of and teacher at Kiev’s National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, he has presented some forty performances in Ukraine’s theaters. He was the inspiration for and star of The Russian Woodpecker, which documents his discovery of a dark secret dating from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and was a Grand Jury Prizewinner at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

“An exhibition of abstract works inspired by the sounds of Chernobyl.. The shadow of the arc, the “Russian woodpecker”, its ominous ability to project the past. This painting is about the sounds of the film and one work is about my friend Artem – the cameraman. Who went to war and does not speak to me. He is torn apart by birds. Mystical birds… They are tearing our hearts now… Birds that flew in from Chernobyl, from the Soviet past…
