manSEDANse - Festival of electronic music, art and culture, 6.-11.10.

manSEDANse is a festival of electronic music, art and culture taking
place in Tampere, Finland. In it's fourth year the festival
electrifies the autumn days and nights of early October (the festival
runs between 6th and 11th October) with it's unrivaled selection of
club nights and related events, such as seminars and workshops.

This years highlights for English speakers are a week long day-time
exhibition focusing on electronic culture. The exhibition takes place
from Tuesday 6th to Sunday 11th of October at Media Museum Rupriikki,
located in the Finlayson area. Entry to the exhibition is free
throughout the week. The manSEDANse exhibition consists of a wide
range of installations and media art, with particular focus on
interaction. It also features a selection of seminars, workshops and
lectures on similar themes.

Furthermore, the manSEDANse exhibition week includes a day programme
focusing on computer games and game research called manSEDANse Play!.
Partly hosted by Game Development Club Score, the event includes demos
of various independent computer games and a panel addressing art and
interaction in games, hosted by game researcher Olli Sotamaa.
manSEDANse Play! is held in English.

The exhibition space is also host to the third instalment of
Audiohackers Workshop, an event focusing on self-made and customized
electronic instruments. Guests of honor at this year's workshop are
Mika Rintala (Verde) and Mikko Ojanen, who will showcase a selection
of electronic instruments built by Finnish pioneer of electronic
music, Erkki Kurenniemi.

Don't forget our club-nights, with the dubstep of Appleblim (UK) and
Dusk & Blackdown (UK) on Friday (9.10.) and a night of acid mayhem
with Rephlex veterans Mike Dred (UK) and Global Goon (UK) on Saturday
