Description
Located in the historical town of Zhujiajiao in Southwest Shanghai, the Zhujiajiao Art Museum is committed to the investigation of Chinese culture and its contemporary situation. In keeping with its mission to support artists and their practices, Zhujiajiao Art Museum offers an international artist-in-residence program. The program brings artists from various geographic and cultural backgrounds to Shanghai to work on individual or collaborative projects proposed by the artists themselves. They encourage critical thinkings on traditional culture of the East by offering this unique opportunity for professional artists at all stage of their careers. The residence program operates on an open studio policy allowing interactions between artists and the publics. A presence of the completed project will be held at the Zhujiajiao Art Museum at the end of the residency.
Paid by host
Accommodation and a weekly stipend of around 100USD, studio space at Zhujiajiao.
