Näyttelykokonaisuus koostuu neljän kaksosen (Hanna ja Riikka Lehikoinen; Jenni ja Anna Hämäläinen) teoksista. Kaksosuus luo täysin ainutlaatuisen aspektin elämän ja empatian kokemiseen. Teosten ytimessä on tutkimusmatka omaan itseen; kuinka monta minää voi olla? Kaksosuuden kokemus maustaa tätä tutkimusmatkaa vahvalla erityislaatuisella tavallakuitenkin kaiken keskiössä on Minä, yksilö, ja myötätunnon harjoittaminen tätä Minää kohtaan. Jokainen taiteilija tarkastelee näitä elementtejä omasta näkökulmastaan käsin ja yhdessä he luovat kokonaisuuden, jossa on koettavissa samaan aikaan kunkin yksilölliset kokemukset sekä universaalimpi sanomaton yhteys, jonka vain kaksoset voivat kokea.

Ehkäpä keskellä tätä palavaa, ihmisiä repivää maailmaa, armo itseä kohtaan on tärkeintä mitä voimme tämän maailman hyväksi tehdä.

The exhibition consists of works by four twins (Hanna and Riikka Lehikoinen; Jenni and Anna Hämäläinen). Twinhood offers a completely unique perspective on experiencing life and empathy. At the heart of the works is an exploration of the self: how many “selves” can there be? The experience of being a twin enriches this journey of self-discovery in a deeply distinctive way—yet, at the center of it all is the “Self,” the individual, and the practice of compassion toward this Self. Each artist examines these elements from their own perspective, and together they create a whole where both their individual experiences and an unspoken, more universal connection—one that only twins can experience—can be felt.

Perhaps, in the midst of this burning, divisive world, grace toward oneself is the most important thing we can do for the world.
