Hirvitalo sijaitsee Pispalan ja Tahmelan rajalla, vanhojen puutalojen värittämällä alueella Pispalanharjun eteläpuolella. Harjuisen maaston takia kadut viettävät usein suuntaan tai toiseen.

Hirvitalon sisälle ja sen eri kerroksiin kuljetaan portaita pitkin, joten kulku ei ole esteetön.

• ⬩ Ulkoportaikossa on 9 porrasta (korkeus 18 cm, syvyys 27 cm ja leveys 117 cm) ja kaide. Porrastasanne on tulosuunnasta 117 cm leveä x 105 cm pitkä. Ulko-ovi aukeaa ulospäin ja sisäänkäynnin leveys on 88 cm. Kynnys on 4 cm korkea.
• ⬩ Sisäkuistilla portaita on 6 (korkeus 11-14 cm, syvyys 30 cm ja leveys 100 cm), ei kaidetta. Ovi kuistin päässä aukeaa ulospäin ja on 135 cm leveä. Kynnys on 3 cm korkea.
• ⬩ Sisällä huoneiden välissä on 3 cm kynnykset.
• ⬩ Sisällä on runsaasti selkänojallisia tuoleja.

Monet esitykset ja tapahtumat pidetään kuitenkin ulkona pihalavalla, jonka edessä tilaa on enemmän. Pihalla on useita selkänojallisia istumapaikkoja, penkkejä ja tuoleja. Pihalle pääsee Hirvikadun puolelta talon vierestä sekä tasaisempaa reittiä Tahmelankadun puolelta varaston takaa (kuvat tekstin alla).

Sisällä talossa on yksi sukupuolineutraali WC, joka on hyvin pieni. Oviaukko on 58 cm leveä, kynnys 5 cm korkea. WC-tila on etuosasta 68 cm leveä ja 50 cm syvä, minkä lisäksi istuin on upotettu vielä kapeampaan, 50 cm leveään ja 70 cm syvään sisennykseen.

Tapahtumissa, joihin on vuokrattu esteetön piha-WC, se sijaitsee Tahmelankadun sisäänkäynnin läheisyydessä pihan perällä. Esteettömälle WC:lle johtaa pihasta n. 1 m leveä ja 7 m pitkä polku.

Muussa tapauksessa lähin esteetön WC sijaitsee 650 m päässä Varalan Urheiluopistolla (tarkista aukioloajat täältä). Tekstin alla kuva reitistä.

Hirvitalo is located on the border of Pispala and Tahmela, in an area filled with old and narrow wooden buildings, on the south side of Pispalanharju (The Pispala ridge). Because of the ridge, most of the streets slope one way or another.

The entrance to Hirvitalo has many stairs, so the inside is not wheelchair accessible.

⬩ The staircase outside has 9 stairs (18 cm high, 27 cm deep and 117 cm wide), plus a railing. The stairhead is 117 cm wide x 105 cm long, when heading inside. The front door opens outwards and the doorway is 88 cm wide. The threshold is 4 cm high.
⬩ The inner porch / hallway has 6 stairs (11-14 cm high, 30 cm deep and 100 cm wide), and no railing. The door at the end of the hallway opens outwards and the doorway is 135 cm wide. The threshold is 3 cm high.
⬩ Thresholds between the rooms inside are 3-3,5 cm.
⬩ There are many chairs inside with backrests.

Many of our performances and events are, however, held outside on our yard stage. The yard has more space and is easier to navigate, and it also holds many chairs, benches and other places to sit and rest. The yard can be entered from Hirvikatu (next to the building) or from Tahmelankatu (behind the warehouse) where there is less of a slope — pictures below.

In the events that include a rented accessible toilet, the toilet will be located near the Tahmelankatu entrance, at the back of the yard. In other cases, the nearest accessible toilet is located 650 m away, in Varala Training Center (check their opening hours here). Map included below.

Saapuminen pihaan / Entrances to the yard

Hirvikadun puolelta / From Hirvikatu:

Pihalle johtaa 10 metriä pitkä, 250 cm leveä asfaltoitu tie, joka viettää matkalla alaspäin (ks. kuva alla). Tien päässä on joitakin mukulakiviä, samoin pihalavan edustalla.

A 10 meter long, 250 cm wide asphalt covered road, which slopes downwards, leads to the yard (picture below). At the end of this road there are a few cobblestones, as well as in front of the yard stage.

Tahmelankadun puolelta / From Tahmelankatu:

Pihan perälle pääsee suoraan Tahmelankadun puolelta, missä katukynnys on madallettu ja maa on tasaisempaa. Tapahtumissa, joissa Hirvitalolle on vuokrattu inva-WC, se sijaitsee lähellä tätä sisäänkäyntiä.

The back of the yard can be reached directly from Tahmelankatu. The curb is lowered and the ground is level. In the case of a rented accessible toilet, the toilet will be located near this entrance.

Pihan perältä johtaa n. 1m levyinen polku varaston viertä pitkin pihalavan eteen. Polku viettää lievästi ylöspäin ja sen varrella on laattakivetys (ks. kuva alla).

A one meter wide path leads from the back of the yard to the yard stage. The path slopes very slightly upward, and has stepping stones on it.

Jos tapahtumaan on vuokrattu esteetön piha-WC, yllä olevan kuvan polku johtaa juurikin piha-WC:ltä esityslavan ja Hirvitalon eteen.

If an accessible portable toilet has been rented for the event, the path in the picture above will lead from said toilet to the front yard.

If there is no rented toilet for the event, the nearest accessible toilet can be found in the Varala training center. Below is a picture of the route to Varala on a map. You can find their opening times here.
